Realizing the significance of a thorough enquiry into the matter, the CDC and the National Institute of Health has taken prompt steps. A 15-member expert committee has been appointed to review the MMR-Autism immunizations link. The committee has since reviewed the research efforts on the MMR-Autism immunizations hypothetical link and has come to a conclusion. And the committee is of the opinion that there is no casual relationship between the Autistic spectrum Disorder and MMR. As a conclusion they feel that according to epidemiological evidence, there is no relationship between autism immunizations and MMR vaccine. Besides, the committee could find no proven biological mechanisms that could explain such a relationship. They were however of the opinion that the vaccine could be leading to a viral infection in central nervous system. And if this result in an autoimmune response. This then might cause autism. However injury from this is almost impossible. Autism is a sad disease since it affects children. But autism immunizations offer hope. It is indeed a bad thing that there is this controversy surrounding autism and immunizations. But hopefully now with this report, the controversy would be gone. Other studies are also being conducted, but we are not discussing about this here. If the child is ill, it can be autism, and autism immunizations are the big hope, and they are here to stay. |
